What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is an invisible orthodontic alignment system that uses a series of clear, plastic aligner trays to straighten your teeth. The trays are made to custom-fit your mouth and are periodically replaced as your teeth move into alignment.

Unlike metal braces that are affixed to each individual tooth, the trays you use with Invisalign slip over your teeth like a mouth guard.

How does Invisalign work?

At your consultation, Dr. Soleimani evaluates your mouth to make sure that Invisalign is the best option for you. If so, she takes a digital image of your mouth, which she uses to craft your aligner trays.

You’ll wear the trays at all times except when you’re eating, brushing, or flossing. Each tray works to move your teeth into position for four to six weeks at a time, then you return to the office for a checkup and a new tray.

How long does treatment with Invisalign take?

On average, orthodontic treatment with Invisalign takes between nine and 15 months, and you’ll use between 20-30 aligners. Dr. Soleimani customizes your plan prior to treatment, so you’ll know exactly what to expect.
