Most of our patients find dental implants are an excellent replacement for missing teeth. They look and feel just like the natural thing and last. If you’re looking at getting a dental implant, there are generally three stages that you’ll have to go through.

• First, the dentist will take a little time to find out if you’re a suitable candidate for an implant. We like to make sure that each and every person who wants this procedure is in good physical health. Usually, the implants are made up of materials like titanium that are compatible with your body.
• With that initial stage out of the way, the next phase is to place the implant into your jawbone. This procedure is usually the same whether you’re looking at a single replacement tooth or all on 4s dental implants. You may need to change your diet during this part of the process. Generally soft foods are a good idea.
• Next, our patients wait for the jawbone and implant to mesh together in the process called osseointegration. This part can take several months.
• Finally, the replacement tooth is placed over the implant. Keep in mind here that replacement teeth may take some time to make. If that’s the case, you get a temporary crown in the meantime.
